Encampment
Encampment
Arizona Wing Encampment is hosted in June each summer.
When open, registration can be processed here.
NOTE: Be sure to complete the entire registration process. Until you see the words “You're registered to attend the Encampment!” on the screen, you’re not done registering.
There are always a limited number of slots for cadet students, so cadets are encouraged to apply as soon as registration opens in April.
What is Encampment?
The purpose of encampment is for cadets to develop leadership skills, investigate the aerospace sciences and related careers, commit to a habit of regular exercise, and solidify their moral character. What encampment is not is a boot camp. While we utilize the same regimented, military-like training model that squadrons successfully implement on a weekly basis, encampments do operate at a higher level of intensity than most cadet activities. While age-appropriate, that increased intensity does create a bit of stress many cadets aren't used to but typically find that with determination and teamwork the encampment experience is a positive and fun activity that provides life-long memories.
Requirements for encampment
In order to attend encampment, cadets must have completed their first achievement, the Curry Award, and receive permission from their parent/guardian as well as their squadron commander. Cadets are encouraged to attend during their first year with Civil Air Patrol.
